Our Vision

A society where Korean American seniors, free from language and cultural barriers, enjoy emotional stability and deep connection, and experience healthy aging with dignity and joy through warm intergenerational exchange.

한인 시니어가 언어와 문화의 장벽 없이 정서적 안정과 깊은 연결을 누리며, 세대 간 따뜻한 교류 속에서 존엄과 기쁨으로 건강한 노년을 살아가는 사회.

Our Mission

SilverConnect lowers language and cultural barriers and fosters intergenerational connection to prevent loneliness and depression and to support emotional stability and healthy aging for Korean American seniors. We provide in-home access to culturally familiar content and basic digital support to strengthen everyday connections.

SilverConnect는 언어·문화 장벽을 낮추고 세대 간 교류를 촉진하여, 한인 시니어의 외로움과 우울을 예방하고 정서적 안정과 건강한 노년을 지원합니다. 또한 가정 내 문화친화적 콘텐츠 접근과 디지털 기초 지원을 제공해 일상 속 연결을 확장합니다.

For decades, Korean American seniors have lived lives of love and devotion to family and community. Yet in a new land, seasons of loneliness and cultural disconnection can sometimes cast a shadow. SilverConnect was created to fill that space with warmth gently and to help restore a sense of vitality. Through familiar Korean-language programs and cultural content, we offer comfort and share emotional stability and mental wellness.

박사 과정 중, 언어와 문화의 장벽으로 고립된 한인 어르신들의 현실을 마주했습니다. 그분들의 깊은 외로움은 제게 ‘무엇을 할 수 있을까?’라는 질문을 던졌고, 그 고민이 SilverConnect의 시작이었습니다.

저희는 ‘익숙함’이 주는 위로에 집중했습니다. 그리운 목소리와 정겨운 풍경을 가장 친숙한 TV로 전해, 어르신들의 일상에 따뜻한 연결고리가 되고자 했습니다.
“이제 사람 사는 것 같다”는 어르신의 말씀처럼, 저희는 TV를 넘어 세상과 마음을 잇는 창을 열고 있습니다. 어르신들의 평온한 일상을 위한 이 연결에 함께해 주셔서 진심으로 감사합니다.

During my doctoral studies, I came face-to-face with the reality of Korean seniors isolated by language and cultural barriers. Their profound loneliness compelled me to ask, “What can I do?” That question was the beginning of SilverConnect.

We focused on the comfort that comes from familiarity. By delivering nostalgic voices and heartwarming scenes through the most familiar medium, TV, we hoped to become a warm link in their daily lives.
As one of our seniors told us, “Now, it feels like I’m truly living again.” Like their words suggest, we are opening a window that connects hearts to the world, going beyond the television screen.
Thank you for joining us in creating these connections for the peaceful, everyday lives of our seniors.
